Hit Girl is a fictional character from the comic book series Kick-Ass, created by writer Mark Millar and artist John Romita Jr. She is a highly skilled teenage assassin named Mindy Macready who is trained by her father, Damon Macready (a.k.a. Big Daddy), to seek out and take down criminals.
Hit Girl is known for her proficiency in weapons and hand-to-hand combat, as well as her foul-mouthed and sarcastic personality. She first made her appearance in the Kick-Ass comic book series in 2008 and was played by actress Chloë Grace Moretz in the 2010 and 2013 film adaptations.
Hit Girl's character has received praise for flipping traditional gender roles in action films and for showcasing a strong female protagonist. However, she has also been criticized for the age appropriateness of the character's violent actions and language.
